How long does a session last?
Roughly an hour and a half.
How many sessions will I need?
That varies from individual to individual and depends on the issues we are working with. A person may need as little as one to three sessions, or may decide to engage in sessions on a regular basis over an extended period of time.
How much time should I leave between sessions?
This is energetic work and you will need time to fully assimilate it. A period of three weeks to a month between sessions is usually recommended.
What should I do in the weeks after my healing session?
Take three hot baths, with 1 cup of baking soda and 1 1/2 cups of sea salt, in the 7-10 days following the session. The baths will facilitate the continuing release of energy connected to the issue that we worked with. I may also suggest homework specific to you and your session.
Is there any physical contact involved?
A little bit. During the session I will apply gentle pressure to two points at the base of your skull, where it meets your neck. This will help you enter a deeply relaxed state, which is very conducive to healing.
I'm seeing a therapist right now. Can I still do a session?
Absolutely. This healing work generally compliments psychotherapy very well.
Can I have sessions if I'm pregnant?
Yes. But, let me know you are. We’ll just avoid doing energy work on your lower chakras.
What if you find something seriously wrong with me?
I work more in the emotional realm than the physical. But, were I to become aware of a physical condition needing attention, I’d do the energetic work and recommend you see an appropriate doctor etc.
I'm taking medication. Can I do a session?
Yes, for the most part. If you see a psychiatrist, and are on medication for a disorder that isn't stabilized, I would recommend consulting your doctor and telling me as well.
Do you contact the dead?
Not really. But sometimes the work I do may involve a departed loved one whose energy may be present.
Do you have a religious affiliation or restriction?
No! Shamanism is very much a spiritual pursuit with no religious affiliations. As a shaman, I have deep respect for all religious faiths.
Do you have a diploma or a certification?
I do. I completed a two-year training in energy medicine, called Healing The Light Body, with
The Four Winds Society,
an organization founded by Alberto Villoldo, PhD. Travel to Peru and spending time with Q'ero shamans there was part of the program, which deeply touched me. I continued my training with the
Seven Fires Medicine Walk
and Valorie Lordi. I am a member of the Seven Fires Medicine Walk Healers Council.
Do I need to participate?
Yes you do. This isn't passive work on your part. We work in partnership to help you bring healing and balance to your life.
Do you do distance healing for people who don't live near you?
Yes I do. In energy healing, physical distance is not an issue. I can just as easily do energy work on someone in Asia, when I am in New York, as I could with someone who's lying next to me.
How much does a session cost?
My full fee is $150 and I work on a sliding scale, starting at $90. Since I do not want my fee to prevent anyone from receiving healing, I leave it to my clients to pay me an amount which is comfortable for them within that range.
